Biography
Dutch born Annemarie Minke knew from the age of 5 she wanted
to be near a kitchen. She attended The Hotel School in Belgium
where she graduated in 1981. She was chef at several of Belgium’s
and Holland’s top rated restaurants before moving
to the United States in 1989 when Annemarie was asked to
prepare the Christmas
dinner for a prominent NY family on their yacht in the Caribbean.
Shortly after she became their private chef in Manhattan.
Annemarie has a quality that puts guests, hosts and staff
at ease. From 1991 to 1996 she worked for several catering
companies in Manhattan while also running a successful private
chef service. She quickly learned that with her Dutch sense
of business and a keen understanding
of how to entertain (the Belgian influence) she did have
a lot
to
add
to the
world
of entertaining in New York City.
Annemarie has ideas, lots of ideas she put them to work
by founding her own catering and event planning company
Annemarie’s
Feast Inc. in 1997.
In order to market her qualities Annemarie incorporated
cooking classes to teach potential clients how to impress
their guests. Her clients were impressed by her simplicity
and different style and felt the passion of Annemarie’s
Feast come through while their event unfolded.
Key to maintaining the high quality menus was finding a chef
who understood and had taste as discerning as Annemarie. European
trained chef Miha Juric joined Annemarie’s Feast 6 years
ago and has since taken over the kitchen while Annemarie oversees
the business and event planning logistics. He continues to
provide the ultimate dining experience from large-scale events
to intimate gatherings all with the same attention to detail
and consistency.
